Hi there, and welcome to this week’s Creative Delight Studio newsletter!

I’m so glad you’re joining me today. Whether you’re listening while you’re creating, going for a walk, or reading this while relaxing with a tea, I hope this brings you some creative inspiration and a bit of joy.

There’s something special about stepping into a space where creativity flows freely—a space where unfinished projects find new life, ideas bloom, and artistic energy is shared.

That’s exactly what I want to invite you into this month. Whether you’re looking for community, inspiration, or a fresh spark for your art, I have a few ways for you to reconnect with your creative practice and embrace the beauty of intuitive making.

An Invitation to Create Together

There’s something magical about creating in the presence of others. It’s like a gentle nudge from the universe—reminding you to pick up that unfinished piece, explore that idea you’ve been circling, or simply give yourself permission to make art without expectation.

That’s exactly what Creative Delight Studio Open Studio Sessions are all about. Starting February 26, these live Zoom gatherings offer a warm, welcoming space to create, connect, and find inspiration in community. Whether you're knee-deep in a project, feeling stuck, or just craving creative company, this is your space to show up as you are.

Not sure if Open Studio Sessions are for you? I’ve gathered 10 reasons why you’ll love joining us...

  1. Complete Your Art – Bring whatever you’re working on and finally finish that piece that’s been waiting for you.

  2. Carve Out Dedicated Creative Time – Life gets busy, and art often takes a back seat. Open Studio gives you a set time to prioritize your creativity.

  3. Reconnect with Your Workshops – If you’ve signed up for a CDS workshop but haven’t gotten started (or need a little nudge), this is the perfect time to dive in.

  4. Company While You Create – Art can be solitary, but it doesn’t have to be lonely. Open Studio offers a warm, welcoming space to create alongside others.

  5. Get a Fresh Perspective – Seeing how others approach their art can inspire new directions and unlock creative solutions.

  6. Get Feedback & Support – Stuck on a piece? Unsure about a color choice? Ask for guidance and receive thoughtful, constructive feedback.

  7. Inspiration on Tap – Being in a creative space with others fuels fresh ideas and keeps your artistic energy flowing.

  8. Stay Motivated – Sometimes, just showing up is enough to push past creative blocks. Open Studio gives you structure and encouragement.

  9. Boost Your Confidence – Regular creative practice helps you trust your instincts, take risks, and embrace your artistic voice.

  10. Heal, Grow, Thrive – Art is about more than making—it’s about processing, reflecting, and embracing your own creative rhythm. Open Studio is a space for all of it.

No matter which CDS workshop you’re working on, I’m here to support you with feedback, encouragement, and answers to your questions. The need for community is real, and the **3 C’s of Healing—Choose, Connect, Communicate—**remind us that we heal best together.

Come as you are. Let’s create together.

Find Your Happy Place

A Celebration of Color, Story, and Soul

2

There’s something about painting in the warm sunshine that shifts everything—the way the colors glow, the way time slows, the way creativity seems to just flows without hesitation. While I was in Honduras, I only had a few basic paint colors, but I had strong pull to mix my own colors each day.

I kept mixing up the most delicious, sun-kissed orange and the dreamiest turquoise, layering them into what became Find Your Happy Place—a painting that holds the essence of joy, expansion (my word for 2025!), and deep connection to the present moment.

The painting unfolded in rhythm with the audiobook I was listening to at the time—Glitter Saints—a story that wove itself into the layers of paint, infusing the piece with a sense of resilience, and beauty. It has the look of Magnolia Pearl clothing, rich with texture, vintage charm, and a bit of wild, untamed spirit—the kind that Robina Brown’s world evokes so effortlessly.

I cannot get enough of this Orange. Color therapy tells us this is the color of celebration and abundance. It carries the energy of courage and confidence. It helps us break through inhibitions, embrace joy, and trust our instincts. It’s warmth and freedom, an invitation to step boldly into the fullness of life.

And how I love Turquoise, the meeting of sky and sea, in color therapy Turquoise brings us clarity and renewal. It soothes while inspiring, encouraging both movement and stillness, depth and expansion. It’s the color of freedom, of flow, of quiet transformation. All things I ADORE!

Together, these colors became the heart of Happy Place—a painting that holds the feeling of a story lived deeply, a little rough around the edges, beautifully imperfect, and utterly alive. The lantern in the top left has a clothing tag with the words, Find you happy place, which was the intention behind creating this piece.

What colors are calling to you? What hues make you feel most at home in your own happy place?

Ready to Channel Your Inner Flower Child?

If Find Your Happy Place speaks to you—the layers, the textures, the intuitive flow of color—then you’ll love my Flower Child workshop. It’s all about embracing that free-spirited, creative energy, letting go of perfection, and allowing your art to bloom naturally.

Guided by the healing power of flowers, Flower Child is an invitation to explore both intuitive collage and the deeper emotions that come through the creative process. We’ll work with mixed media techniques, layering fabric, paper, and paint to create an expressive floral collage that feel as wild and free as a meadow in full bloom.

This is art-making without rules. A space to play, to release, to nurture the soil of your soul. Whether you’re looking to reconnect with your inner child, process emotions through creativity, or simply enjoy some uplifting self-care, Flower Child offers a safe and inspiring place to explore.

And right now, it’s half price—just $22! If you've been waiting for a sign to start creating, this is it.

Sharing our Soulful Stories

I loved creating my Soulful Story from start to finish. Layer by layer the process was a journey of storytelling, discovery, exploration and expression that I absolutely loved. I hesitated to finish her, to say she was “done”, until I felt she was complete. But, I think I might have another Soulful Story in me and look forward to my next one. Delight, thank you for creating this course, your guidance and the entire wonderful experience. ~ Linda

*If you would like to see a close up of Linda’s finished Soulful Story you can on the CDS Forum here.

“This makes my heart so happy to hear! I love that you embraced the layers and allowed the process to unfold like a true journey. That moment of knowing when a piece is truly "done" is such an intuitive and powerful one, isn’t it? And I absolutely love that you feel another Soulful Story waiting to emerge—there’s always another layer, another story to tell. Thank you for being part of this experience and for sharing your beautiful reflection. It means so much to me!” ~Delight💛

Creative Tip to Inspire

The Color You Keep Seeing

Have you ever noticed a color that keeps appearing in your life? Maybe it’s the the deep turquoise of an old book cover that catches your eye in a shop window or the pale lavender hue of dusk settling outside your window. Sometimes, colors find us before we even realize we need them.

This week, let that color lead you. Pay attention to the colors that have been standing out to you lately. This isn’t about your favorite color or the one you often choose in your art—this is about the color that keeps appearing, almost like it’s calling your attention.

A Simple Creative Exercise:

  1. Collect the Color – Gather scraps from old magazines, fabric remnants, paint swatches, or even objects from nature that reflect this hue. If you prefer digital inspiration, create a Pinterest board filled with variations of your color.

  2. Mix & Layer – Play with different materials to see how this color interacts. Does it change depending on what it’s paired with? Try layering it with translucent paper, fabric, or ink washes.

  3. Create with Intention – Make a small collage or painting using only this color (and perhaps a few neutrals). Let your intuition guide the shapes and textures.

  4. Reflect – What does this color evoke for you? Comfort? Excitement? A memory from childhood? Sometimes, colors carry emotions we haven’t yet put into words.

This is a simple, meditative way to tune into your creative instincts and notice the hidden patterns in your life. Sometimes, the colors we see are guiding us toward something we need to pay attention to. Keep your eyes open… what color keeps finding you?

The Color I Can’t Get Enough Of…

If there’s one color I always reach for—without thinking, without question—it’s turquoise. No matter how many times I tell myself to try something different, my hands seem to instinctively find that perfect blend of blue and green. It’s in my paint palette, my papers, my fabric scraps… even the stones and shells I collect seem to hold this color.

When I look at the color therapy meaning behind turquoise, it all makes sense. It’s the color of calm, clarity, and communication—all things I crave in my art and life. Turquoise is like a deep, steady breath, an open sky, or the soothing rhythm of waves. It holds both the grounding energy of green and the expansive spirit of blue, making it a bridge between the heart and the mind, between intuition and expression.

If you’ve ever been drawn to turquoise (or any color), there’s likely a deeper reason. Colors aren’t just visual—they hold energy, emotion, and meaning. If you love turquoise as much as I do, check out the Turquoise Color Therapy Guide and see what this color reveals about you!

What’s the color you always reach for, the one that feels like home? I’d love to hear. 💫

I hope this newsletter has given you a wee push (if you need one) to carve out time for your creativity—whether that means joining a CDS Open Studio session, experimenting with color, or simply making space for inspiration to find you. Creativity isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment; it’s about showing up, exploring, and letting the process unfold.

If Find Your Happy Place resonated with you, or if the Flower Child workshop feels like the right next step, I’d love for you to join me. And if you’re feeling the pull toward collage, don’t miss out on the Collage Makers Summit—join my waitlist and claim your discount!

As always, I love hearing from you. What colors are calling to you lately? What’s lighting up your creativity? Hit reply and let me know.

Wishing you a week filled with inspiration, small creative moments, and the joy of making something just for you.
